Y13 Physicists Compete toward the British Physics Olympiad

Five of our A-Level Physics students challenged themselves by signing up for Round 1 of the British Physics Olympiad.  This consisted of two exam papers, including a set of short answer questions and several long answer thematic questions. They require students to solve problems and challenge their abilities to apply their knowledge and skills.  Students showed a profound depth of development, skill at the subject, and a determination to solve hard physics problems.

About two and a half thousand students participate in the competition annually. The paper is a challenge with a very tall ladder of skill, ability and preparedness.

We are very proud of these students for entering the competition and challenging themselves.

  • Isabelle Hall achieved a Commendation
  • Lewis Hacking and Oliver Fields each achieved a Bronze-2 award
  • Katie Baker and Samuel Marsh both did very well to achieve Bronze-1 awards

Keep up the hard work!
