Y12 Royal Society of Chemistry Competition

Our Year 12 Chemistry students recently took part in the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry’s (RSC) Royal Analyst Competition, showcasing both their practical skills and analytical thinking. This annual competition challenges students to solve real-world scientific problems through a series of investigations. This year’s theme focused on analysing soil quality for a potential new housing development – a task that required precision, teamwork, and critical thinking.

Our winning team – Amogh, Madison, and Omar – impressed the judges with their thorough approach, scientific accuracy, and ability to interpret complex data. Their first-place finish is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to their hard work and enthusiasm for chemistry.

Taking part in such a nationally recognised competition not only strengthens their practical science experience but will also be an excellent addition to their UCAS applications, demonstrating subject passion, initiative, and collaborative problem-solving skills.

A huge well done to all who took part!
