Minimum qualification for Sixth Form entrance is five 4 grades including Maths and English.

A student’s suitability for their chosen subjects will also be taken into account, even if they meet the 5 grade 4s threshold. Final sixth form numbers will vary depending on combination of courses, availability of spaces. Applicants will need to have a proven record of good or excellent effort in Year 11 in order to qualify for a place, verified by a suitable reference.

Students who do not achieve a grade 4 in their Maths and/or their English GCSE will be required to re-sit these GCSEs as a condition of their offer. Students must be aged between 16 and 18 on 31 August.

Subject Option Requirements

There are specific entry requirements for some of our option subjects. For the BTEC Science course a minimum of a C grade at GCSE science, core or triple, is required. For all sciences, at least a high scoring grade B in the relevant science, or at least a high scoring grade B in Additional Science, is required.

For Mathematics, a minimum of a high scoring B grade at GCSE Mathematics is required. For Further Mathematics, a minimum of a grade A* at GCSE Mathematics is required, as well as evidence of success beyond GCSE. A further entry test will be set in these subjects in the first week of the course in September, this will be taken into account in assessing a student’s suitability for the course.
